Volunteers are the strength of The Harbor. They help sustain and expand our programs by contributing their time, skills, resources, and dedication to serving children and families in our community. Long and short term volunteer opportunities are available in a variety of service areas such as:
Volunteer Opportunities
Speakers Bureau
Speak to organizations concerning The Harbor’s mission in our community.
Volunteer Advocacte
Provide crisis intervention to survivors, family members and friends.
Crisis Hotline Volunteers
Provide crisis intervention, support and information to callers.
Clerical Volunteer
Assist with general front office duties such as typing, answering phones, and general office tasks.
Family Greeter Volunteer
Assist in providing a comfortable atmosphere for families when an interview is taking place.
Special Event Volunteer
Devote time assisting with special fund raising or projects that The Harbor is involved in.
Crime Victim Advocate
Provide crisis intervention by accompanying the victim to the hospital for necessary medical treatment.
Case Management Mentor Program
Provides moral support and encouragement to families that lack a successful support system through consultation, modeling positive behavior, and setting and achieving goals.
Steps to becoming a volunteer:
Fill out a volunteer application, confidentiality statement, and backgroun check.
Must be 18 years of age to be a Crime Victim or Crisis Hotline Advocate.
Schedule a personal interview with Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteer Coordinator will check references and schedule a training.
